Deep Plane Facelift

The long lasted medical and surgical searches for a natural, beautiful and young image have been an important subject for medical science. The most correct approach for the specialists who continue their work in this field is giving enough satisfaction to the patient, making them happy without damaging them whatsoever.

As a surgeon, I believe the most radical and correct approach is through a surgical surgery. Making patients happy with closest to perfect results with the most suitable technique and the finest observable details after detailed examination of the patient is a cornerstone in our occupation.

The experience and expertise of doctor is essential in determining the most suitable technique for the patient in that there are various kinds of face rejuvenation surgeries.

  •  Deep Plane Facelift
  •  Composite Plane Facelift
  •  Extended Deep Plane Facelift

Facelift surgery is a comprehensive and combined surgery against the slouching on skin as a result of old age, sagging in fat tissues, volume loss related to fat resorption, reveal of curves between nose and lips, having “turkey neck” in neck area and general sagging. In addition, skin excess in upper eyelids and under eye bags on lower eyelids are operated.

Although facelift surgery is preferred above 40 years of age, more natural and effective results are obtained in earlier ages using the same technique (deep plane, composite plane facelift).

“Deep Plane”, “Composite Plane” facelift surgeries can be successfully used for sagging tissues in midface, totally balancing face area, and being “the most rational” and “optimum” technique.

It is completed under general anaesthesia. Before 3 weeks of surgery, cigarette and aspirin usage should be given up. Furthermore, anticoagulants should not be used within 1 week before surgery. After the surgery, there should be no change in expressions and permanent oedema on patients. The postsurgical pain is generally mild and can be taken under control easily with painkillers. For 1 to 2 days, there may be a need for a drain as to prevent blood from accumulating in the neck area. Face is covered with bandage wholly and after 1 day, a medical dressing is applied, and the bandage is removed. Time for hospitalisation is 1 day.

The swellings and purpleness on face usually vanish substantially after 1 week. In some cases, this situation may last for 15-20 days. The sutures on face are divided in two: some of them dissolve by themselves, some of them are required to be removed after 6-7 days. The incisions for the surgery are done in hairy skin, behind ears and on curves of skin; hence, they cannot be detected.

It is known that the effect of facelift surgery continues for 10-15 years. Because the aging is still ongoing, the effects which would be apparent on the face related to aging may be mitigated by a repeated surgery. By reviewing the brochure I prepared including detailed information about facelifting and by visiting our clinic, we can arrange a personally planned surgery and treatment protocol. After that, you can look at the future much younger and healthier.

Are Face-Lifting Tapes Effective? Can They Be Compared to Facelift Surgery?

Face-lifting tapes are used to temporarily tighten the skin and provide a younger appearance. These tapes are usually elastic bands or adhesive strips placed under the skin to tighten it and reduce fine wrinkles. The effects of face-lifting tapes are temporary, making them suitable for daily use or special events.

Effects and Advantages:

  1. Immediate Results: Face-lifting tapes tighten the skin immediately and temporarily reduce wrinkles.
  2. Easy Application: No surgical intervention is required and they can be easily applied at home.
  3. Low Cost: Much cheaper than surgeries.

Disadvantages:

  1. Temporary Effect: The effect usually lasts for a few hours and does not provide permanent results.
  2. Discomfort: Wearing tapes on your face throughout the day can be uncomfortable.
  3. Visibility: Sometimes the tapes can be visible, creating an unnatural look.

Comparison with Facelift Surgery

Facelift surgery is a permanent surgical procedure performed to tighten and rejuvenate the skin. This surgery involves repositioning the tissues and muscles under the skin to provide longer-lasting and natural-looking results.

Effects and Advantages:

  1. Permanent Results: The effects of surgery can last for years.
  2. Deep Impact: Provides more comprehensive rejuvenation by intervening in the tissues under the skin.
  3. Natural Appearance: When performed by expert surgeons, the results are generally natural and aesthetic.

Disadvantages:

  1. High Cost: Surgeries are much more expensive compared to face-lifting tapes.
  2. Recovery Process: The recovery process after surgery can take several weeks, during which there can be swelling and bruising.
  3. Risks: As with any surgical intervention, facelift surgery also carries risks such as infection and anesthesia complications.

Nonsurgical Necklift:

Non-surgical facial rejuvenation refers to a series of cosmetic procedures aimed at reducing or delaying the signs of aging on the face using non-invasive methods. These methods are generally minimally invasive and typically do not require long recovery periods as surgical procedures do. Non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures may include:

  1. Botulinum toxin injections: Botulinum toxin injections can help reduce dynamic wrinkles and fine lines by temporarily paralyzing the facial muscles.
  2. Dermal fillers (Liquid Facelift): Dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid can be used to compensate for volume loss in the skin and fill in wrinkles. They can also be used to add volume to the cheeks, shape the lips, and correct nasolabial folds. The effects of fillers typically last between 6 to 18 months.
  3. Skin rejuvenation treatments: Methods like chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser skin rejuvenation can correct skin tone, reduce spots, and improve the overall appearance of the skin. These treatments can also help tighten the skin by increasing collagen production.
  4. Radiofrequency and ultrasound: Radiofrequency and ultrasound technologies can tighten the deeper layers of the skin and reduce wrinkles. The effects of these procedures usually increase over time and can last for several months.
  5. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy: This treatment can help reduce brown spots, spider veins, and other pigmentation issues on the skin. It can also improve the overall tone of the skin and reduce some signs of aging.

Non-surgical facial rejuvenation can be preferred as an alternative to surgical intervention and is generally less risky and less invasive. However, its effects may not be as long-lasting as surgical procedures, and multiple sessions may be required. It is important to consult with your doctor to assess one's expectations and needs before undergoing any procedure.
