Tonsils, which assume roles in defence mechanism of our bodies, are lymph tissues located on both sides of the throat, behind tongue and different from surrounding tissues.

Except for some special cases in adult patients, snoring, sleep obstruction, respiratory arrest (apnea) due to recurrent hypertrophy (growth) of the tonsils due to chronic infections and consequent narrowing of the airways, at least 7 in the last year, at least in the last two years. Tonsil surgery is recommended in cases such as 5, or at least 3 febrile tonsil infections in the last three years, and frequent ear infection attacks as a result of these infections.
