It is done under local anaesthesia. Usually 20 minutes is enough for the procedure. Patients can be discharged on the same day of surgery. On average, they can return to work after 10 days. It is important to use moisturizing ointments to prevent crusting after the procedure. For 6 months, patients should be protected from the sun and use sunscreen. Dark-skinned people may have permanent discoloration or spotting.
